The Home Minister has announced several new measures to improve Immigration operations at the country’s entry points.

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says this includes deploying multilingual personnel to communicate with international visitors.

The Minister also says starting immediately, only senior Immigration officers are allowed to issue notices to bar entry for international travelers.

It follows recent allegations of corruption by Immigration officers handing foreign visitors at KLIA.

An MACC investigation will launched soon into alleged corruption involving a National Registration Department officer.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki says they’ve already received the initial information.

This comes amid allegations that an NRD officer had allegedly asked for cash to issue citizenship certificates.

MCA and MIC will be sitting out the upcoming state elections.

The two BN component parties say they will instead focus their efforts on preparing for the next general election.

The Finance Ministry has clarified that a viral message circulating on Telegram, claiming that there will be an additional Rahmah Cash Aid payment…is fake.

Its also urging the public to always refer to official channels for accurate news and information.
