Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub has passed away at the age of 61 after undergoing surgery for a brain hemorrhage.

The remains of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister arrived back in his hometown in Johor early this morning, via a specially-arranged flight from Alor Setar.

The funeral of the Pulai MP and Amanah Deputy President has been set for noon today.

Datuk Seri Salahuddin is best known for leading the government’s various efforts to reduce the rakyat’s cost of living, including the hugely popular Menu Rahmah initiative.

The principals of Form Six Colleges have been given the autonomy to conduct student recruitment.

According to the Education Ministry, the principals can make direct offers to deserving and qualified potential students, without having to wait for an offer from the ministry.

The government will be reviewing SOP’s for the approval of concert permits, following the inappropriate behaviour displayed by a foreign band during a local music festival last Friday.

The Communications and Digital Minister says they will also be holding a town-hall session with organisers to get their views on how to make improvements.

There’s been an over 129 percent increase in dengue cases from January to mid-July…from the same period last year.

The Health Ministry says there were nearly 64 thousand cases reported so far this year, with the number of fatalities also rising to 45.
