Early voting today for six-state elections

Early voting for the six-state elections and the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election takes place today.
It will involve more than 97 thousand armed forces and police personnel as well as their spouses…who will cast their ballots from 8am this morning.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission says its issued over 103 thousand postal ballot papers for eligible voters…consisting of election workers, police and army personnel, media practitioners and Malaysians residing abroad.

Meanwhile, the IGP assures that security of all state election candidates is guaranteed.
He says if there are cases of candidates who feel unsafe during campaigning…they can lodge a report for the cops to investigate.
So far, though, police monitoring has not uncovered any threats against those running in the elections.

More than 2,200 dengue cases were reported nationwide for the week ending July 22nd…which is a 6.7 percent drop from the previous week.
A further two fatalities from the disease were also reported during this period.
