The government has agreed to adjust the salary scales of lecturers, professors and civil servants under Budget 2024.

This group has not had a salary adjustment in over 10 years.

The Prime Minister says this initial move is a temporary measure, until a more comprehensive study on their salaries and pensions is completed next year.

The government has rubbished claims that it intends to increase the number of parliamentary seats from 222 to 300.

The Communications and Digital Minister says this is merely rumour-mongering, in the run-up to the Pulai by-election.

Fahmi Fadzil adds that any politician who wants clarification on the matter, can raise questions in Parliament.

-

The government will further loosen the eligibility requirements for persons with disabilities to enroll in TVET programs.

The Prime Minister says there is already some flexibility for the disabled to enroll, but he wants entry requirements to be based more on the individual’s capabilities.

Police expect to record the statement of Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang today, over his earlier remarks questioning the authority of the Pardons Board.

The PAS president was supposed to have been questioned over the weekend, but asked for a postponement as he was feeling unwell.

Police have confirmed receiving four reports about alleged tiger sightings around the Hulu Selangor district, with the latest sighting reported on Saturday.

The Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department has already been informed, and is now investigating the matter.
