The KL High Court has found MUDA president Syed Saddiq guilty on four charges of criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and money laundering, linked to over a million ringgit of funds belonging to the youth wing of Bersatu.  

The judge is set to hear oral submissions today from the Muar MP’s team and the prosecution over his sentencing.  

The former Bersatu youth chief faces a maximum punishment of 15 years jail, whipping, and a fine.

The Education Ministry says it has a zero-tolerance approach when it comes to bullying at all of its educational institutions.

It says this is a serious issue that cannot be taken lightly, and there are several channels where students and members of the public can file reports.

This, following a recent viral incident where a student was allegedly bullied at a boarding school in Kuala Kangsar.

The Ministry says authorities are currently investigating the matter, adding that its also prepared to meet with the student’s parents or guardians to discuss the issue.

About 100 million ringgit has been allocated for emergency expenses during the northeast monsoon.

The Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry says this includes repairs on drainage systems, bridges and other flood-management structures.

The money will be distributed in stages, based on the needs of the affected states.

Meanwhile, the number of flood evacuees in Selangor and Perak declined slightly this morning.

In Selangor…the number of victims is down to 740…while Perak has 470 evacuees.

University Malaya was once again the top local institution in the latest QS World University Rankings for Asia.

UM came in at 11th place…to maintain its top-20 status.

Meanwhile, UPM and UKM both moved up two positions…to 25th and 28th respectively in the rankings.
