There are an estimated five million smokers in the country aged 15 and above.

The Health Minister says this is partly due to the emergence of new smokers, whose numbers are expected to increase with the prevalence of e-cigarettes or vape.

Dr Zaliha Mustafa also said there were 27 thousand smoking-related deaths in the country, according to statistics from 2019.

The flood situation in the east coast continues to improve, with a drop in the number of evacuees.

In Kelantan…there are around 317 victims still seeking shelter at relief centers as of last night.

While Terengganu had about 22 evacuees.

Rapid KL has denied a viral post claiming there had been an explosion along the Kajang MRT line.

The operator says there was no blast or fire as claimed, clarifying that there had merely been a spark from one of the trains.
