The government has once again clarified that the new National Digital Identity will not involve the recording of fingerprint or iris scan data.

The Communications and Digital Minister says the ID is merely to facilitate users’ transactions with government departments and certain private institutions, without the need for multiple passwords.

He adds that the agency behind the implementation of the digital ID has also been asked to open up information counters during this weekend’s Madani government anniversary program, to explain the matter to the public.

The new 2027 school curriculum aims to produce more well-balanced students who can cultivate lifelong learning and value racial unity and harmony.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek says this is the result of engagement sessions with stakeholders and a nationwide survey to seek the best way to help Malaysian students.

The Minister adds that the new approach would also combine the current standards-based curriculum with a competency-oriented curriculum that is used in countries like Singapore and Canada.
