East Coast Flooding Worsens

The flood situation in the east coast continues to worsen.
In Kelantan…the number of evacuees has risen to around 1200.
The victims are being housed at 18 evacuation centers in Kuala Krai and Tanah Merah.
Meanwhile, Terengganu saw its number of evacuees rise to around 450…with all the victims from the district of Hulu Terengganu.
According to the Social Welfare Department’s portal, Selangor also still has around 106 flood victims…in Kuala Selangor.

About 30 percent of e-cigarette users in Malaysia are between the ages of 12 and 15.
This is according to figures from the Southeast Asian Tobacco Control Alliance…which also indicates there are more e-cigarette users compared to cigarette smokers in this age group.
The alliance is also urging the government to take more concrete steps to address the issue, including following in the footsteps of several neighboring countries that have banned these vape products.

The government wants to strengthen the Women’s Anti Crime Squad program…to raise more awareness about crime and related issues.
The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is hoping the program’s expansion will also encourage more women to volunteer as first responders for community-policing.
This comes in the wake of the recent killing of six-year-old boy Zayn Rayyan.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister says the government will continue with Rahmah Sales initiative, with the hugely-popular program now a part of the national agenda.

And, the Education Ministry says the first phase of registration for the 2024/2025 matriculation program opens today.
