Rapid Rail Reports Record Ridership

May 31, 2024

 rapid rail reports record ridership

Over a million passengers used the Klang Valley's LRT, MRT and Monorail services on Wednesday.

According to Rapid Rail, this was its highest-ever number of passengers in a single day.

It says it was due to several factors, including the introduction of additional trains for the Kelana Jaya and Kajang Lines.

It was also due to the school holidays, and the organization of several large-scale events near rail stations on that day.

Police have registered around 8,100 road crashes so far this week, resulting in 71 deaths.

This, as Bukit Aman traffic police reported 1,697 crashes yesterday, with 14 deaths.

In total, nearly 140 thousand accidents have been reported since PDRM started releasing daily accident stats in mid-March.

The Education Ministry has promised to take appropriate action against those responsible after a primary school pupil suffered from heatstroke recently.

The Year 5 pupil reportedly suffered from complications after being forced to stand in a field in the hot sun.
