The Prime Minister says the details about the salary increase for civil servants will be announced before the tabling of Budget 2025 this October.

Last month, Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim announced that civil servants will receive a more than 13% raise, one of the highest in Malaysia's history.

The increase will be effective December 1st, 12 years after the last revision.

The Home Ministry says amendments to the Drug Dependents Act have already been approved by the Cabinet and Attorney General.

This includes the clause to decriminalize drug addiction.

The ministry adds that the bill will be tabled before the current parliamentary sessions ends next month.

The Statistics Department says Bangi in Selangor is the country’s most populous parliamentary constituency, with over 708 thousand people.

Meanwhile, Wangsa Maju in KL is the constituency with the highest population density with over 13,500 people per square kilometer.

The US Justice Department has agreed to return more than 100 million dollars that fugitive financier Jho Low allegedly embezzled in the 1MDB scandal.

Authorities said artworks and a luxury flat in Paris will be liquidated, with the assets to be returned to Malaysia.

The Kedah government says it welcomes all tourists to Langkawi, regardless of religion.

It also clarified that there have been no discussions to make the island, which is one of the top 10 in the world, a preferred Muslim destination.
