Job Scams: Not All Are Duped

Not all who claim to have fallen for overseas job scams are victims of human trafficking.
The Deputy Foreign Minister says based on figures, as many as 90 percent who say they are victims… actually willingly sign up with international syndicates despite knowing the risks.
It says these individuals only come forward, claiming to have been deceived…when they face issues like abuse or illegal detention by the employers.

The government has launched a much-improved emergency response system.
The Next Generation 999 system now integrates digital maps, caller ID, geolocation services and mobile smart apps to improve emergency response time nationwide.
It will also leverage technology like data analytics and AI.

We could see tougher regulation against vaping as soon as next month.
The Health Minister said on social media that they’re working on getting the new regulations endorsed by the Attorney General’s Chambers…and are aiming to get it implemented as soon as possible.

The MARA chairman says we shouldn’t forget those who failed their SPM exam or didnt get credits…and pushed TVET as a viable alternative for these candidates.
This, amid the current focus on the government’s guarantee of a matriculation place, for every SPM leaver who obtains 10 A’s or better.
