Jul 10, 2024

plkn 3.0 pilot project to start next year

The new National Service Training Programme’s pilot project is expected to begin mid-next year.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Khalid Nordin says it will involve selected Form Four students, who will undergo a pre-PLKN programme as part of their co-curricular activities.

It's to prepare them for the next phase of training, which will happen at army camps once they reach the age of 17.

Members of the public will continue to have 24-hour access to police stations, including to lodge reports or complaints.

Thie IGP said this, after the Home Ministry ordered gates at all police stations to close after 10pm every night, under new security SOPs.

The order was issued after two policemen died in the Ulu Tiram police station attack.

Bersatu says it’s looking at legal action, after the Dewan Rakyat speaker said that 6 of its MPs will NOT have to vacate their seats for declaring their support for the PM.

Bersatu had asked for their removal after revoking their party membership.

The HR Ministry is appointing an independent auditor to investigate alleged irregularities at the Human Resources Development Corporation.

The independent audit will go hand in hand with the MACC’s probe into the matter.
