The Dewan Rakyat speaker has defended his decision not to vacate the seats of six Bersatu MP’s who lost their party membership.

Tan Sri Johari Abdul says the matter was studied and considered thoroughly, before he arrived at his conclusion.

He said this in Parliament, in response to calls from the Opposition for further clarification about the status of the six members.

Kedah police have recorded statements from five individuals over the incident where two brothers accidentally consumed poison-laced snacks that had been put out to trap monkeys.

Cops say so far only one person- an orchard owner - has been remanded to assist with investigations.

The Education Ministry says all outstanding SPM students who have yet to be offered a spot in the government’s matriculation program, will receive the offer by next month.

It explained that the enrolment will be done in stages.

The government has issued a strict warning to pharmaceutical players against price fixing and anti-competition practices.

This includes the appointment of agents or middlemen, which can contribute towards higher medicine prices.

Malaysians are divided about how to respond to the recent cyberbullying case on Tik Tok which led to the death of a social media influencer.

According to an Instagram poll by Astro Radio News, 33% of respondents believe that the government should tighten security on TikTok.

A further 30% said that cracking down on fake accounts is the way to go, while 29% feltthe government should ban the app entirely.

Currently, two suspects have been remanded over the case to assist with investigations.

This, after the influencer was found dead just shortly after lodging a police report about the two bullying her online.
