Special Status For Low-Sugar Food Companies

Companies that reduce sugar content in their food products will be granted a special ‘Healthy Choice’ recognition.
Its part of the Health Ministry’s ‘War On Sugar’ campaign…to encourage Malaysians to reduce their sugar intake.
This, after a recent survey showed that one in two Malaysians are obese or overweight.

A primary school student in Sandakan, Sabah has died of suspected food poisoning.
Local officials are now seeking confirmation if the 10-year-old’s death was due to contaminated food.
If confirmed, this would be the latest in a spate of such cases nationwide.
This includes similar food poisoning incidents reported recently in Johor, Penang and Kota Kinabalu…as well as the fatal case in Gombak.

The number of missing persons cases is on the rise, but it has yet to reach a worrying level.
The Bukit Aman CID director also advised parents and guardians to constantly monitor their children’s behavior and surroundings…to minimize the risk of kids going missing.

Separately, more than 1,600 police officers have lost their jobs over the past 10 years.
Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department adds that a further 15 thousand-plus were subjected to various disciplinary actions.
