Fallen Tree Kills 2 In Penang

There have been reports of more uprooted trees, due to heavy storms and strong winds today.
The Penang Fire and Rescue Department said two Chinese nationals died, after a large tree collapsed and fell onto their vehicle in George Town.
Meanwhile in Taiping, Perak, four people were injured, two of them seriously, when a tree fell on top of an MPV and a motorcycle.
Also, two vehicles were crushed by a fallen tree in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, but there were no reports of injuries.

The number of flood victims up north now stands at around 4,500.
At last look, JKM’s disaster portal said nearly 4 thousand people were seeking shelter at temporary evacuation centres in Kedah.
Another 650 people are at shelters in Penang and Perlis.

The MACC says it is NOT involved in the probe into GISB, as it has not seen any elements of corruption so far.
This, as police continue their investigation into the alleged exploitation and abuse of some 400 children at 20 GISB-linked welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

Meanwhile, a member of GISB claimed trial at a court in Putrajaya for criminal investigation.
He's accused of threatening a woman, to withdraw a police report that was lodged against the company.

And the price of RON97 petrol and diesel will be cheaper by 6 sen for the next seven days.
Starting midnight tonight, RON97 will be priced at RM3.19 per litre, while diesel will be at RM2.95.
RON95 petrol will be unchanged at RM2.05.
