GST will not be making a comeback anytime soon.

The Prime Minister pointed out that even though the Goods and Services Tax is a better, more efficient system...it will only be re-introduced once Malaysian’s income levels are at a more comfortable threshold.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim further explained that this is to ensure that the poorest in society are not disproportionately affected by GST

The government is not looking to re-introduce an inheritance tax under Budget 2025.

Cabinet minister Anthony Loke made it clear that these reports are merely rumours, clarifying that the matter has not been discussed or considered.

His comment comes in the wake of recent reports claiming that the upcoming budget could roll out the inheritance tax as one of five new taxes to increase government revenue.

Police are investigating if the children rescued from GISB linked welfare homes are victims of potential militant brainwashing.

The IGP adds that they're looking into claims that the kids were shown militant videos at the homes during their free time.

Pahang is the latest state to be hit by flooding, with the Social Welfare Department’s portal showing nearly 100 evacuees at relief shelters there.

Meanwhile, almost 3350 victims have been displaced in Kedah, Perak, Johor, and Selangor combined.
