PM Rules Out Flood Emergency Declaration
Dec 02, 2024
The PM sys there is no need to declare a flood emergency for now.
According to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, this is because the relevant agencies have been managing the situation well, due to months of early preparations.
Datuk Seri Anwar also urged more private companies to do their part to help flood victims, by providing either funds or machinery.
He adds that government-linked firms have already mobilized all their companies to provide aid, while local banks are also doing their part.

Future SPM exams MAY be held outside of the monsoon season.
The Education Ministry says it will consider such a possibility, due to the risk of floods.
Yesterday, the ministry said that over 5 thousand SPM candidates were affected by the current round of flooding in the three worst-hit states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
They’ve been relocated to ensure they can sit for the exams as scheduled.
This, as the SPM starts today with the Bahasa Melayu Oral Test.
The ministry also says that home-based teaching and learning, or PDPR, has been implemented at over 130 flood-affected schools.
