BNM, MOH Working On Insurance Premium Guidelines

Bank Negara and the Health Ministry will review and issue new guidelines regarding the increase in insurance premiums.
The Prime Minister adds that a Diagnosis-Related Groups guideline will also be introduced to standardize specialist fees.
This, following reports that medical insurance premiums could rise by up to 70% next year due to rising costs.

The Dewan Rakyat has passed amendments to the Communications and Multimedia Act after a bloc vote.
59 MP’s were in favour of the amendments...40 were against...one abstained...while 122 were absent during the vote.
The amendments are part efforts to hold social media companies more accountable for content on their platform and to hold cyberbullies more liable for their actions.

The flood situation across six states continues to worsen.
According to the Social Welfare Department's portal, the number of evacuees has risen to more than 2,000.
Most of the victims are from Terengganu...while the remaining evacuees are displaced in Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Perak, Pahang, and Melaka.

The government is stepping up efforts to speed up the immigration clearance process at KLIA.
As such, the Immigration Department will introduce 40 additional auto-gates at the country’s main airport that can clear a passport in less than five seconds, compared to the current clearance time of up to 15 seconds.
