KKM Backs State Vape Sales Bans

The Health Ministry has welcomed the move by several states to ban the sale of vapes and e-cigarettes.
Its minister says state governments have full authority over the matter, and they have the ministry's full support.
He said this after Terengganu said it will implement such a ban starting in August.
Meanwhile, Selangor will soon hold a meeting to discuss the matter.

Barisan Nasional has retained the Ayer Kuning state assembly seat in Perak
Its candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir claimed a 5,000 vote majority in yesterday's by-election, beating his opponents from Perikatan Nasional and Parti Sosialis Malaysia.
The by-election was called after its incumbent passed away in February

Police have not received any reports about men allegedly demanding to check the identity cards of residents in Putra Heights, Selangor.
However, cops say they will monitor the situation.

Malaysians have been reminded to brace themselves for more heavy rain and thunderstorms until the middle of next month.
MetMalaysia says this is due to the inter-monsoon period, which started in late March.
This, as heavy downpours triggered flash floods hit several areas over the past few weeks, including in the Klang Valley.
