Foreign barber in KL tests positive for COVID-19

Jun 12, 2020

103 more COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospital, meaning that over 7,100 people have been cleared of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 33 new cases were reported, raising the total to 8,402

The death toll has risen to 119 after one more patient succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile the Health Director General confirmed that a foreign barber in KL has tested positive for COVID-19.

Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the barber made house calls to clients during the previous phases of the MCO, adding all his close contacts have been identified and screened.

Barbershops to show proof of negative COVID-19 test result

Customers at barbershops and hair salons can ask for proof that their staff have been tested, and cleared of COVID-19.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says clinics will issue a letter after each swab test, and customers have the right to examine that letter.

You can lodge a report with the authorities if they fail to show proof.

This, after a barber in KL reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

Remember to follow SOPs at highway R&Rs

Malaysians have been reminded to follow prescribed SOPs when travelling inter-state this weekend.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says a set of rules are in effect at R&Rs to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He adds that traffic is expected to build up starting today until Sunday.
