Social events to be allowed from July 1st

Several social activities will be allowed to take place starting next month.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this includes religious events, weddings, as well as birthday celebrations and reunions.
He says attendance must be recorded, and each guest must have their temperature taken.
Datuk Seri Ismail adds that only 250 people can attend, depending on the size of the venue, and the event can only last up to five hours.
Malaysia records just 6 new COVID-19 cases
Only 6 new COVID-19 cases were detected today, while 45 patients were discharged from hospital.
According to the Health Ministry, the total number of cases now stands at 8,596.
However, there are only 244 active cases.
The death toll is unchanged at 121.
Health Ministry to monitor school SOP effectiveness
Schools have started reopening for the first time since the start of the Movement Control Order period
The Health Ministry says it will monitor the effectiveness of SOPs for schools over the next few days, and will decide this weekend whether any adjustments need to be made.
It will also help the government decide when to reopen schools for other students.
Schools are currently open for secondary students sitting for major national exams.
