October intake for Kedah, Sarawak uni's may be delayed

The October intake for public universities in Kedah and Sarawak may be delayed if Covid-19 cases in both states continue to increase.

However, the Higher Education Ministry says the postponement will only be implemented after obtaining advice from the relevant authorities.

It adds that reps from the health ministry had visited the unis to review the situation.

CUEPACS has advised civil servants, especially those in official attire, not to use social media while on duty.

It says some of them had worn their department's uniform to record and upload inappropriate videos on their personal social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.

CUEPACS says such activities would only create a negative perception towards civil servants.

Singer Taylor Swift has donated 23,000 pounds to a student in the UK, who was struggling to raise the funds to take up a maths course at university.

The pop star was inspired by the drive and dedication of the student.

Swift has previously made a number of impromptu donations to fans whose stories she has read about online, including a New York photographer who asked for financial support via Tumbler.
