MOH develops system to assess risk of imported Covid-19 cases

The Health Ministry has developed a system to assess the risk profile of other countries in light of the rising number of imported Covid-19 cases.

It says the matrix will analyse countries based on the number of cases in the past 14 days among other factors.

This comes after Putrajaya said it will allow expatriates and professional visit pass holders from 23 countries to enter, easing a ban that took place from Monday.

The government had come under heavy criticism over the ban, which covers countries that have more than 150 thousand Covid-19 cases.

There was nothing particularly unusual about the heavy rainfall that pummeled several parts of KL yesterday evening.

The National Weather and Geophysics Operations centre says the total rainfall, that saw vehicles submerged and parts of the city inundated with flood water, was regarded normal for an average rainy day in the country.

A meteorologist from the centre says the flash flood was a result of other factors.

The centre has warned that Malaysia would experience wet days throughout the year as the inter-monsoon period begins in the middle of this month.

Meanwhile, DBKL says the worst hit areas yesterday were the constituencies of Bukit Bintang, Wangsa Maju and Titiwangsa.

Police have advised the public not to turn up for the proceeding to charge former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng at the Butterworth Sessions Court in Penang today.

They say authorities will be monitoring in the court area and will take action including issuing RM1,000 compound to those who violate Covid-19 SOPs.
