Malaysia reports 4 new COVID-19 clusters

101 new COVID-19 cases were reported today, raising the number of active infections to 1,062.

Of the new cases, over 70 were found in Sabah, followed by 15 in Selangor. 

Meanwhile, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says four new clusters were detected today. 

"Kementerian Kesihatan ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat empat cluster baru yang dikenalpasti pada hari ini, iaitu di Sabah; dua kluster, Selangor; satu kluster, dan Johor; satu kluster." 

The death toll is unchanged at 134. 

Malaysia to finalise selection of COVID-19 vaccine by early 2021

Malaysia is expected to finalise the selection of a COVID-19 vaccine by early next year. 

The Science, Technology, and Innovations Minister says this, as data from clinical trials are set to be studied at the end of 2020. 

He adds that his ministry is already in talks with the Attorney General's Chambers over the legal implications for the vaccine. 

Health Ministry denies sending viral COVID-19 message

The Health Ministry says it did not send out a viral message advising the public not to visit several areas in KL due to COVID-19. 

The message listed 23 locations believed to have been visited by COVID-19 positive individuals. 

It explained that any premises visited by a COVID-19 patient undergoes a disinfection process. 

After that it is safe for people to return.
