Expert eases concerns about forehead temperature scans

Thermal scanners have become a sort of an essential gadget to have in the new normal scenario.

But while many are sceptical about using their forehead to scan their temperatures, as such respiratory specialist Dr Kow Ken Siong shares with us why would this be the best way.

"forehead temperature seems to fit the build nicely as it is a fair approximation of body temperature that can be done quickly and non-invasively."

This as many people are using their hands to scan their temperatures as they are concern about the side effects of scanning the forehead with infrared light.

This despite the Health Ministry's assurance that there has been no scientific evidence on the side effects of taking forehead temperature using infrared thermometers.

A new Covid-19 cluster has been detected in Alor Setar, Kedah, with three positive cases.

Disputes and misunderstandings at work among foreign workers are among the motives for murder cases in the country from 2009 until last year.

Bukit Aman says about 15 percent of the 5,403 murder cases recorded during the period involved disputes.

But the good news is that the crime index for violent crimes and property showed a declining trend over the past 11 years.
