Government to restrict inter-district travel in Sabah

Oct 01, 2020

The government is set to restrict cross-border travel between Sabah's districts, following a rise in COVID-19 cases.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the order will come into effect from this Saturday until October 16th.

However, the restriction does not apply to essential services such as delivieries of food and medical supplies.

Datuk Seri Ismail adds that those who have finished their quarantine period during this time, will be allowed to return to their respective districts, or to the peninsula.

260 new COVID-19 cases, 4 more clusters

Malaysia reported 260 new COVID-19 cases today, the highest number of infections since the start of the Recovery MCO.

Meanwhile, the Health Director General says four new clusters were detected

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says they were found in Selangor, Sabah, Kedah and the Federal Territories.

"Empat kluster baru telah dilaporkan iaitu di Selangor Kluster Meru, di Sabah terdapat satu kluster iaitu Kluster Joo Hwa, di Wilayah Persekutuan ada satu kluster baru iaitu Kluster Selasih, dan di Kedah iaitu Kluster Bah Ketil."

The death toll remains at 136.

Government to revise SOPs due to high number of RMCO breaches

SOPs for restaurants and bars in KL are set to be reviewed, because of a rise in breaches of Recovery MCO rules.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa says, it'll be done to prevent the public from being complacent, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This, as many people are still visiting nightclubs and pubs, even though these premises are not allowed to open during the RMCO.
