CUEPACS: Close schools that have COVID-19 cases

All schools nationwide have been urged to close, IF a COVID-19 case is detected there. 

CUEPACS say its to allow authorities to conduct contact tracing, as well as for disinfection works. 

Its President adds, IF such schools remain open it could run the risk of further spreading the infection. 

Meanwhile, a primary school in KL has been ordered to close until next Friday, due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Lembah Pantai MP says it’s to allow the school to be sanitized.

EMCO in Kunak, Tawau, Lahad Datu and Sempora to be extended

The Enhanced MCO in Kunak, Tawau, Lahad Datu and Sempora, Sabah will be extended for two more weeks.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakon says it is now scheduled to end on October 26th.

It’s because the areas are still reporting new COVID-19 cases.

Today's COVID-19 figures

354 new cases were reported today, 2 of which were imported. 

The Health Ministry says 274 were reported in Sabah, as authorities stepped up testing in areas such as those under the EMCO. 

The death toll has risen to 152 after 6 new deaths were reported.
