It is safe to donate blood during Covid-19 pandemic
Oct 16, 2020
The National Blood Centre is appealing for blood donations from members of the public, especially those with blood type B to increase stock.
It says people do not have to worry as individuals are not at risk of contracting Covid-19 through blood transfusions.
Currently, the centre has about 2,000 blood bags, of which 600 bags were distributed daily to meet the needs of all hospitals in the Klang Valley.
4 new Covid-19 clusters have been detected in the country, bringing the total of active clusters to 75.
The Health Ministry says one of the new clusters, dubbed the Bah Pasir cluster, involved both Negri Sembilan and Putrajaya.
The rest were found in Sabah, Perak and Labuan.
All kindergartens, schools, hostels, and colleges in Labuan will be shut from tomorrow until the end of the month.
This comes after Labuan was placed under the conditional MCO for two weeks starting tomorrow due to the surge in Covid-19 cases.
