“Although the projection for CMCO is four weeks, if we manage to flatten the curve, we can go back to RMCO earlier. That means you still have to comply to SOP, but we allow normal activities to resume at that point of time”
Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, however adds that some are still not obeying the SOP’s, adding that the outbreak can be contained if people don’t go out unnecessarily.
Separately, Dr Hisham is also advising Malaysians to avoid panic buying ahead of the Deepavali celebrations.
He says large groups at supermarkets will only increase the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
Police to go on their rounds
Speaking of Deepavali, police will be doing their rounds in residential areas this weekend, to ensure that people comply with Covid-19 SOP’s over the festive period.
A maximum of 20 people are allowed per house, with action to be taken against those who exceed the limit.
