Agong declares emergency in Batu Sapi, Sabah

Nov 18, 2020

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has declared a state of emergency in Batu Sapi, Sabah due to the country’s current COVID-19 situation.

This means the Batu Sapi parliamentary by-election which was due to take place next month will not go on.

It has instead been postponed to a later date.

The Agong acknowledges that the previous Sabah state election is a factor in the country’s third wave of COVID-19 infections.
