New COVID-19 cases back down to 3-digits

Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases has returned to triple digits today, with more than 850 cases.
Selangor continues to record the highest tally with 249 infections, followed closely by Sabah with 229 and Johor 102.
Meanwhile, two more people have died due to the virus, raising the death toll to 365.

EMCO in several areas to end tomorrow
The Enhanced MCO at Zone B and Zone C of Taman Meru 2C in Ipoh, Perak has been extended.
The Defence Minister says it will be extended for one more week starting this Friday.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the EMCO in several areas is set to end tomorrow.
They are Sabah’s Tawau Temporary Detention Centre, and the Sandakan Prison.
The EMCO in Kampung Tegudon and Kampung Nahaba in Sabah will also be lifted tomorrow.

Government urged to ensure COVID-19 vaccine Syariah compliant
The government has been called to conduct a study on the COVID-19 vaccine Malaysia will receive, to ensure it abides by Islamic law.
The Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar says this is amid concerns among Muslims regarding the vaccine’s halal status.
Malaysia is in the priority list to receive a vaccine from China.
