Malaysia set to embark on first Covid-19 vaccine trial

Malaysia is set to embark on its first Covid-19 vaccine trial, which would involve some 3,000 participants from 8 hospitals under the Health Ministry.
The trial will be a Phase 3 clinical trial on a vaccine that has been developed by a medical institute in Beijing.
This, following the success of the vaccine's Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials which showed good results as it is able to generate adequate antibody response.
The Health Ministry reported 1,141 new Covid-19 infections, with about half of them being recorded in the Klang Valley.
The fresh cases bring the national tally to surpass the 70,000 mark, while active cases stood at over 10,000.
Sarawak is now allowing lectures and meetings as well as childcare centres and kindergartens situated in mosques and suraus to operate during the recovery MCO period.
