Govt can't enforce movement restrictions forever

Malaysians are the first line of defense against COVID-19. 

Senior Minister for Security, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says everyone can do their part, by strictly following all SOPs set by the authorities. 

He also pointed out that the govt cannot impose strict rules like travel restrictions forever, so people have to be responsible to ensure everyone's safety. 

Datuk Seri Ismail adds that countries like Taiwan have relatively few COVID-19 cases, despite of movement restrictions, because their people are self-disciplined.

1,900 new COVID-19 cases yesterday

Malaysia's reported 1,973 new COVID-19 infections yesterday.

The Health Director General says Selangor had the highest number of daily cases, at 823, followed Sabah with 429, and KL 238. 
9 new deaths were reported yesterday, raising the death from to 411. 

The Health Ministry has also reported 3 new COVID-19 clusters and all of them involved workplaces.

Its director-general says this includes the Bukit Gemok Cluster in Sabah, the Bina Cendana Site Cluster in 3 districts in KL, and the Dang Mutiara Cluster in Selangor and Terengganu.

New California mayor has Malaysian links

A woman of Malaysian heritage has made history, when she was elected mayor of a city in California.

25-year-old Jocelyn Yow, whose father is Malaysian, is the youngest woman of colour to serve as a mayor in the US state.
