There are tax reductions for Covid-19 treatment and vaccine

The Covid-19 treatment and vaccine costs for parents of taxpayers can be tax deducted under expenses for medical, special needs, and parental care.

The Finance Ministry says income tax relief for individuals could be claimed up to RM8,000.

The tax relief of RM1,000  for vaccination including for Covid-19 also applied to taxpayers, their spouses, and children.

The Health Ministry reported more than 87 thousand Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke, as we recorded another 1,295 infections yesterday.

The bulk of infections had come from Selangor, Sabah, and KL.

There were 7 new fatalities yesterday, raising the overall death toll to 429.

The Election Commission accepts the decision of the Yang diPertuan Agong, to declare an emergency for Perak's Gerik parliamentary constituency, and the Bugaya state seat in Sabah.

It says it will hold off all its ongoing preparations for the elections.

The move means that the by-elections that were due to take place there next month will be
delayed.
