50 health workers at Klang hospital have Covid-19

The Selangor State Health Department has confirmed Covid-19 infections among patients and health workers at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

It says 50 health workers have contracted the virus and are receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh hospital.

It also assured that the hospital will remain open and that the situation is under control.
 

The Dewan Rakyat has approved another 20 billion ringgit for the Covid-19 fund, after passing amendments for the Covid-19 Financing Bill.

The Finance Minister says the additional allocation will be used for the Prihatin economic stimulus package and related aid programmes.

The Health Ministry reported 1,220 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative total close to the 90,000 mark.

The total now stands at over 89,000 infections, with the number of fatalities at 432.
