Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a fishing boat in waters off Kudat, Sabah late last night.
Authorities say one crew member sustained injuries on his arm and body, and is currently being treated at a hospital in Sandakan.
Federal Marine police are investigating the case from all angles, including the possibility that the boat had entered Philippines waters.
