Singapore to impose road charge
Jan 16, 2017
Starting Feb 15, all foreign-registered vehicles entering Singapore from Malaysia will have to pay a road charge of 6 dollars and 40 cents, or around 20 ringgit.
This, after the republic said it would impose a reciprocal road charge, after Msia implemented the fee on Singaporean vehicles last November.
The Singaporean Land Transport Authority says when implemented, the road charge will be collected along with the Vehicle Entry Permit, toll charges and fixed Electronic Road Pricing fees upon departure at the Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoints.
Motorists caught evading payment will face a fine of 50 Sing dollars for a first offence, 100 dollars for a subsequent offence.
