The man who was seen in a viral video kicking a dog during a pet show in Setia Alam on Saturday, says he was merely defending his dog from the other canine.

The 51-year-old claimed he had given the other dog space to move away when they got into a fight, but had to resort to kicking it when it wouldn't stop lunging at his pet.

The man also dismissed social media claims that he was a dog abuser, saying his pet would not be able to perform in a dog sports event if it was abused.
