Another 60 food items MAY be taxable!

Jun 19, 2017

Another 60 food items MAY be taxable under the GST from 1st July.

This is due to their change in status from a zero-rated supply good.

Affected items include swordfish, eels, octopus, potatoes, spinach, corn, cucumbers, dates, grapes, peaches, green tea, spices and kuey tiao.

The Finance Ministry will lay out the changes to the Dewan Rakyat in its next sitting in July.

The Customs Department told Sin Chew it will explain the changes to consumers today and called for patience.
