Those who spread fake news claiming the MACC has declared the Sabah Water Department scandal corruption-free, are in trouble.

Those who spread fake news claiming the MACC has declared the Sabah Water Department scandal corruption-free, are in trouble.

The anti-corruption commission has lodged a police report over the social media rumours.

It wants legal action against those who started the claims, as the false info can confuse the public and affect ongoing court proceedings.

The MACC arrested 28 people last October on suspicions of stealing from a fund meant to boost Sabah's clean water supply.

3 people have already been charged with money laundering in connection to the case.
