More than half a million people in Malaysia have been duped by illegal investment scams in the past 19 months.

More than half a million people in Malaysia have been duped by illegal investment scams in the past 19 months.

Bukit Aman says victims were attracted by the promise of high returns.

As such, it has reiterated the importance of checking with Bank Negara and the Companies Commission of Msia, before committing to any kind of investment.

Such a scam syndicate was busted last week, suspected of causing almost 40 million ringgit in losses in Pahang and Kelantan.
