MOH: Almost 60% of cancer cases in Malaysia are detected at the late stages of 3 and 4.

Feb 05, 2018

Almost 60 percent of cancer cases in Malaysia are detected at the late stages of 3 and 4.

The Health Ministry says this is because many Malaysians are still unaware about the importance of early diagnosis and screening.

Many patients also tend to seek alternative treatment after diagnosis, and only return to the hospital when the cancer is at an advanced stage.

The Health Ministry has reminded it provides free screening and tests for cervical, breast and colorectal cancer.
