Redelineation had nothing to do with race

Race was not why the Election Commission decided to review electoral boundaries.

It denied its redelineation exercise was triggered by the change in racial composition in constituencies, explaining it was more focused on reducing the gap in the number of voters. 

However, the EC admitted the redelineation will alter racial compositions in a constituency, but that's unavoidable.
