Barisan Nasional has won a seat without contesting in the 14th general election. 

Negeri Sembilan MB Datuk Seri Mohd Hasan was named winner of the Rantau state seat.

This, after the nomination process this morning, saw his sole opponent, PKR's Dr. S. Streram, prevented from entering the nomination centre, as he didn't have the relevant EC pass.

The situation became tense, when Dr. S. Streram and his supporters protested against the police, but otherwise, police say the nomination process nationwide went smoothly.
