Terengganu records 605 cases of HFMD since 240618

A total of 605 cases of the hand,foot and mouth disease have been recorded in Terengganu since it was first detected on June 24th until last Tuesday.

The state govt says the number marks an increase of 210 per cent from 195 cases during the same period last year.

The district of Kuala Terengganu recorded the highest number of HFMD cases with 151.

Meanwhile, the Penang govt says 319 cases of  HFMD were reported in Penang since Sunday until Thursday compared to 358 cases during the same period last week.

It adds that even though the HFMD cases were on the decline, the state Health Department was still carrying out preventive measures to curb the disease from time to time.

Polling day: Sungai Kandis state by-election.

A total of 51,217 voters will go to the polls in today's Sungai Kandis state by-election.

This as 19 polling stations with 109 streams will be open from 8 am to 5.30 pm.

Rain is expected in the morning while fine weather has been forecast for the evening.

The by-election is being held following the death of the assemblyman, Mat Shuhaimi Shafiei of PKR.
