Costlier Water For Singapore Soon?

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has told The Associated Press, he wants to hike the price of water sold to Singapore by more than 10 times, as the government finds ways to pay off its massive 1 trillion ringgit debt.

Malaysia currently sells water to our neighbours at 3 sen per 1,000 gallons, but buys it back in treated form for 50 sen per 1,000 gallons.

In comparison, Johor sells water to Melaka at 30 sen per 1,000 gallons. 


No Respite From The Heat

The weather in the Peninsular will be hot and dry until mid next month. 

The Met Department said this will affect KL, Selangor, Putrajaya, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.

This is due to the active phase of the southwest monsoon. 


Private Funding For National Car Project

If a 3rd national car project is implemented, it will neither use public funds nor money from the government. 

The Finance Minister assured the project will be funded by private investments, if it ever comes to fruition. 


Guan Eng Denies Blacklist Rumours

Lim Guan Eng has also dismissed allegations that he's not joining this Friday's delegation to China because he has been blacklisted by Beijing. 

In response to the claims from Umno lawmaker Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Guan Eng said he's staying back to make sure the bills to abolish GST and reintrocude the SST are passed by the Dewan Negara next week.
