SUARAM Not Impressed With Government's Performance

Tomorrow marks the 100-day point of the Pakatan government being in power, and not everyone is impressed.

Suaram has issued a scathing 100 Days report card for government.

It says Pakatan has only managed to achieve about 20% of the promises made in their manifesto and also accused the government of flip-flopping on certain issues.

Suara Rakyat Malaysia also accused the PM of autocratic decision-making.

Many Unsure About i-Suri

About 600 housewives signed up for the i-Suri programme on the first day of registration yesterday.

However, the EPF says many among the target group are still unaware of the terms of conditions to qualify for the scheme, with about 250 of them turning up yesterday with enquiries.

Housewives, widows and single mothers under 60-years-old need to register themselves in the eKasih database to find out if they qualify.

Lower Birthrate Expected

Malaysia's birth rate is expected to drop this year and fall below the level of replacement.

Official government statistics showed that a woman aged between 15 and 49 is estimated to have 1.9 children, which is not enough to replace her and her partner.
