Malaysians drove more recklessly over the past 2 weeks.

Malaysians drove more recklessly over the past 2 weeks, as drivers took advantage of the govt's decision to waive all AES summonses issued before 31st August. 

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said over 1,200 summonses were issued over the past 2 days alone for speeding and running red lights.

The government successfully took over all AES cameras in the country last Saturday, which means penalties including a 300 ringgit fine and demerit points are back in place.

He said "Untuk system demerit, the first 20 points dia diberi amaran sekali, kali kedua kumpul 20 mata lagi, maka lesen akan digantung"

Loke said offenders are welcome to challenge their summonses in court, but if they fail to turn up, they will be blacklisted from any dealings with the JPJ, including renewing road tax and licence. 

Datuk Seri Azmin Ali: We will not compensate Singapore during the time that the HSR project is put on hold.

The Economics Affairs Minister says Malaysia will NOT compensate Singapore during the time that the High Speed Rail project is put on hold.

He says Singapore has accepted Malaysia’s view on deferring the project.

A penalty will only be paid if the project is cancelled.

In other news:

Former spy agency chief Datuk Hasanah Abdul Hamid has been released from the MACC custody.

She was remanded for 6 days to allow the anti -graft agency to investigate into alleged misappropriation of GE14 amounting to nearly 50 million ringgit.

Most M'sians only found out about the spy agency and Hasanah after it was revealed she wrote a letter to the CIA asking for support for former PM DS Najib Razak, before GE14. 

And, CNN has pulled episodes of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, that feature actress Asia Argento from its streaming service.

It told Buzzfeed, that it was due to sexual harassment allegations against her. 

Argento, who was dating the travel show's host Anthony Bourdain at the time of his death, appeared in two episodes and directed a third.

She's accused of paying off a young actor who claims Argento sexually assaulted him when he was just 17
