Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has pleaded NOT guilty to 4 charges in relation to money laundering & income tax offenses at the KL Sessions Court today.

Bail has been set at 1 million ringgit.

He recently came into the spotlight for allegedly receiving 9.5 million ringgit from Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, to prosecute DS Anwar Ibrahim's Sodomy 2 appeals.

Shafee, however, expects to file a formal application to bar Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram from leading the prosecution against him. 

He says this is because Sri Ram was the lawyer for DS Anwar Ibrahim in an earlier suit against the previous govt.

Those who obtained their drivers license without taking the required test, have one month to come forward.

The Transport Ministry says some 14 thousand individuals who obtained their licences illegally have been identified, and need to surrender to the JPJ starting today.

Straight fight maybe?

The Port Dickson by-election could end up being a straight fight between PKR and UMNO. 

This, after MIC said it will not be contesting, while PAS announced that it is giving way to UMNO, in return for the backing it received during the Seri Setia polls last week.

The developments come after the PD seat's incumbent Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah agreed to step down yesterday, for PKR's DS Anwar Ibrahim to contest.

4 men have been arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Arau, Perlis earlier this month.

The suspects have been remanded for a week over the incident.
