AG Tommy Thomas: I did not resign !

Attorney-general Tommy Thomas has denied that he resigned.

He says the a recent news report on the matter is FAKE and he will continue to serve his term.

Meanwhile, the online portal that carried the report has published an apology. 

PKR's central election committee: We will keep an eye on all workers.

PKR's central election committee will continue to monitor all workers involved in the party's election process which begins this week.

It's to ensure that the party’s election is transparent and free from corruption.

This comes after two PKR branch chiefs in Kedah were remanded by the MACC for soliciting a 20,000 ringgit bribe in their internal election.

In other news:

Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos has pleaded NOT guilty at the Ampang Magistrate’s Court, for leaving the country illegally.

The UMNO leader fled the country in May while under arrest over another charge, and was detained in Indonesia a month later.

Malaysia is facing a prison overcrowding issue.

More than 50 percent out of the 37 prisons nationwide, keeping over 61 thousand inmates are overcroweded.

And, Jamaica is set to introduce a ban on single use plastic bags, plastic straws, and styrofoam used to package food and drinks. 

It's urging consumers to use reusable carrier bags, to help protect the environment.
